Somali clans sea ports ( power ) and our long coastline

Post by BenderBay »

Somali tribes with port access seems to be thriving economically very well , of course with some exception. But how come Somalis have underestimated the value of having sea access?

Image

Clans that are very fortunate

Majeerteen Bosaaso + 1200 km of coast ( damn :o )
Ciise Muuse ( Ceelayo )
Sacad Muuse ( Bulaxaar )
Habar Awal combined ( deep water Berbera )
Abgaal ( Xamar ? )

Clans with potential of boosting their land and region

Habar Jeclo
Warsangeli
Habar Gidir
Mareexan
Samaroon
Abgaal

Unfortunate large clans with no sea access

Ogaadeni
Habar Younis
Dhulbahante
Biciidyahaan
Ciidagale
Xawaadle
Digil iyo Mirifle

I think this is a very interesting topic.... cause ports is what makes fortune

Ciidagale and Habr Younis are 1 subclan not 2 separate ones

Its Garxajis

first of all

Garxajis is a combined tribe which means ciidagale and habar yonis are two separate clans.
second Maydh and the approx 70 - 80 km coastline is Isaaq deegan not subclan of Isaaq like habar yonis cause all isaaq clans came from that place.

last Maydh is not connect with western habar yonis and ciidagale in Odweyne and Waqooyie

so still I am right

none of them have sea and port access connected to their degmos + HAWD

Habar Awal got it + ports
Habar Jeclo got it too but no ports

still habar yonis and ciidagale got larger land than those two combined

Somali's need to be introduced to fishing, I don't know why they think fishing is shameful. A lot of refugee people from the south who have migrated to Puntland fish and are making a living. But the state needs to invest in fisheries industry instead of countries fishing in our waters illegally.

The problem with a fisheries industry is it takes a lot of money to set up, plus setting up a fish processing plant can expensive too.

But If anyone has money, investing in fishing industry considering we have a rich variety of fish and long coastline could earn a killing. That's my plan at least.

It doesn't matter, all clans use different ports, different times

But the industry has a loooooooooooooooooot of potential

If Hobyo and Las Qorey projects get going, imagine, Somalis collectively would have 6 ports....7 if you include Jabuuti :o

dude I am talking " clan centric " here

Fah imagine you in the future become governor of Hiiraan
then you get problems with your neighbours and they cut you off from port access....

lets say the central government is very weak

how are you gonna export all that goodies and tamaandho iyo xab xab you cultivate in your lush lagricultural land.

fah if you guys even had slighest acces to open sea your business orientated grandfather and most of your subclan would have thrived just like the majeerteens up north.

look at dhulbahante are they ' happy ' ...

Koa think security think strategy and agendas
