The thing is you have to set the boundaries in the beginning. You need to be hospital but show them who the house belongs to. If you have to be abrasive and blunt with your actions sometimes, do it as long as the point is not lost on them.

saaxib the thing is i have a close friend who helped me a lot when i first moved here. this dude waa nin reer magaal ah in the real sense of the word and the other day he asked me to put up his brother who was moving her from another state for few days. now the brother is getting on my last fockin nerves and i feel like i would an ingrate if throw this focker out because of what that other dude did for me. waa focked situation to be in but this dude waa badow jaahilnimo ka badate........dhaqankaan kan leeyahay waa mid dad badan ku arke. anyway i will try to tolerate his bullshit for few days and hope i don't snap.

-smoke in the house
-eat up all the food and dont put sh!t up
-talk on the phone @ night
-Being Hella Loud
-Wearing my cloths (my god I hate this)
-leaving urine stains around the toilet seat
-wet bathroom floors


Besides the food part, the rest make my blood boil literally.

Dude I just came from living in a two bedroom apartment with three other dudes. If there is no respect, the place is not livable. You guys can get chummy chummy for all you like but respect has to be there otherwise the place will never be a livable environment. THere is no "Waiting" it out with this dude. WHat you have seen is what he is, what miracle are you waiting for him to change his conduct?

Let me give you a little secret, no one knows you better than your family. Chances are your "friend" knows exactly how his brother acts/lives and is taking advantage of you by asking you to put him up.

One thing I noticed about Somalis is....asxaan=weakness. Once they have determined you are weak, you might as well be the rag they wipe their feet on. Tell that fukker to act like a man today or bounce the fukk out. You are already returned the friends favor by agreeing to put his brother up in the beginning.

Advo, I agree about the brothers thing. Now that I am back in my house, I see the difference wallahi. It is better to live with ajnabi that has respect for you then brothers or people who will step on you. Just today I spent an hour searching for my wallet and when I found it my debit card was not in there. That schit would have never happened if I was living with my roommates.

I REALLY try hard to tolerate them, even if they get on my nerves so much. I tell myself, they will only be here for a few more days. Wajiga ha iska dilin.... I especially hate it when they tell me to make shaah - I dunno why - I wouldn't mind making a three course meal. but making shaah bothers me for some reason.

Somali guests don't apologize for damaging your possessions, which they do at every visit. They also tend to steal pictures for Allah knows what reason. They'll give you this look like they're observing you to the point that you want to shoot them in the neck with a dueceduece execution style.

The problem is that they have no respect. When guests have no respect for your domain, only Nebi Maxamed css and his companions can tolerate these creatures!
