Do you work?

Post by Htologist »

If you work, what do you do? what is your job title? do you make good money? how long have you been with the company? I'm asking because my job is boring, after four years of doing the same thing, I'm ready to look for something else; I'm hoping to work for the State of Washington.

Nope, i'm a scientist. wanted to become a doctor but couldn't be bothered with all the studying. I'm happy with the money alxamdulillah, the company pays well. I've been with the company for nearly 2 years now ever since i graduated. And after a year or so i think i'll move on inshallah.

Self-employed dental technician since 1978. "Laboratory Owner" or "Certified Dental Technician."

What is good money? Income is variable, but on the order of $20-25/ hr at the high end. The future of the field is questionable due to outsourcing and newer technologies. Many, but not all, of the functions are being CAD-CAMMED. Most technicians now entering the field are computer operatiors.

Much of the future looks like it will be on the clinical side. The dental schools are no longer teaching full dentures, as an example. This is an area that is being taken over by clinical technicians.
