No offence but, I have yet to see or hear a Somali man/woman amaze me with their singing skills. I mean they range from God-awful to mediocre. Some of them just sound like its kareoke night . And dont even get me started on the music .

What do you mean Somalis cant sing? Ofcourse they can..they have been doing that since time immemorial..just because it doesnt sound like western music..and just because you dont happen to understand much of what their saying..doesnt mean they are bad singers..ofcourse this is excluding those few untallented bands that sing in arooses


to sum up..if you understood the meaning of the words..the poetic style..then only can you appreciate it.

of course they can sing.Thye are like everyone else so,they can also have good and bad singers.U probably just dont understand it much like my sister.She says she hates Somali music and shes not that good when it comes to somali.

No they cant. Magool is long gone, so is Mohamed Mooge and barkhad Cas and other somali music icons.

The only left are few wajiyo xun and annoying as hell music. No creativity is both the lyrics and the music whatsoever.

If you don't believe me, just go to wedding or xaflado, and see the songs they sing. Just so boring and you can't even get your groove on that annoying music.

so right...most of them are pretty rubbish....

When I was young I thought I could sing, but I was sadly mistaken. Anyways, ofcourse somalis can sing, they have this unique way of singing that doesn't involve one to actually be able to carry a tune, but yeah they can sing. Listen to one of my favourite songs:

looool i know i even recorded myself a few times i sounded perfectly ok to myself but majority of the people told me not to quit my day job
