An Atlanta man testified Tuesday about his parents' attitude toward his African-American wife, who was killed in an attack allegedly engineered by his father.

Rajeeve Rai said there was friction with his Indian-born parents over his relationship with Sparkle Reid Rai. However, he backed away from statements he made to police in which he described them as "kind of racist."

Rai testified for a second day in the trial of his father, Chiman Rai, who is accused of hiring a 300-pound hit man who forced his way into the young couple's Union City apartment in 2000 and stabbed Sparkle Rai to death.

Rai testified that his folks were upset that he had not married an Indian girl or finished college, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said.

The defense contends a robber seeking drugs killed Mrs. Rai, and that Chiman Rai got a long well with the black community in Jackson, Miss., where the family runs a supermarket.

Somali nomads need every help they can possibly get herding the goats and camels in. Why would they willingly kill off a percentage of their labor. Worker productivity would greatly decline and this is why our nomadic forefathers never employed honor killings....

I am disgusted at her family who have accepted this and she is still part of the family?? and involved in family life..
