If you're planning on marrying a second wife can you please tell your first wife before you get married . I don't want any surprises and would rather have someone who's honest about their future plans.

Can I just say that polagamy is such a sexist practice. No woman would ever want to share her husband. Its a halaal way of cheating. Tell your wife from the beginning when you're getting to know each other before you even marry her. Also, be sure you can afford these marriages b/c its quite expensive raising two sets of kids.

its permitted in islam, read surah nisa and its tafsir, Allah says "Marry one" first anyway realizing that no man can treat his wives equally

there are also more women on earth than men, thats a fact and its growing, i agree a dude should tell his wife first and not have secrets but its all about doing it the right way

Fine, FAH. But remember that there are a lot of women who DON'T want to share their husband. Be honest from the beginnng about your intentions because there is a good chance that she will divorce you for doing this to her and you're going to have kids who will resent you for the rest of their lives. Some Somali men can be very selfish and they don't understand the meaning of raisng a family.

There are many reasons why Allah(swt) permitted the men to marry more wives. Back then and still today, divorced women were never wedded again so they were made outcasts and segregated from their communities. This is why Allah(swt) reccomends us to marry widows and the divorced.
