Would you let your kids be on msn?

My friend's youngest sister has just started using her own MSN account. She likes to start convos with "Hi" then "How r u?" then waits for you to actually make a conversation. If you don't reply right away she repeats the first two entries.

She is still at a phase where she thinks that other people should entertain her. If we are online she assumes that we are free to chat. Her subtitle says "I'm boreeeeeeeeeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!"

I feel bad because she's only about 8yrs old but I've started wondering what the heck her parents are doing if she's online all the time and bored out of her skull. Infact I don't even think they know about her
being on-line.. Anyway I am contemplating whether i should ask her parents about it or not but
don't wanna get the little girl in trouble...

What would you do If you were in my shoes?

maybe you should, if it was my daughter i'd certainly want to know. If, and hopefully (inshallah) nothing bad will happen to her but say something did and you didn't say anything how would you feel? I'm sure her parents will let her use msn, if they know about it and then they can atleast supervise her.

I think you should talk to the 8year old.... tell her its not okey for her to be on the internet....
tell her its for grown ups.... 8) and if she doesn't stop tell your friend her sister....

You should inform her parents...walaahi waalidka qaarkood waan ka yaaba..how could they let a 8 yrs girl use the net all alone...dont they know how many sick pple are outhere..all the fusuq that is going on ..all the pedophiles outhere....a 8yrs girl doesnt need msn...she can meet her friends and play outside like other children.

All the online activity should be suprvised by the parents and they should instal a program that track down where the kids have been surfing and not be able to surfe in dirty sites.

its not a big deal..i think my younger sisters had msn at that age..they used to talk to their friends..to our relatives from diff parts of the world etc...plus the computer was in the main room.
