Things I love about Africa:


1. Relaxed pace of life - No rush, hustle bustle crap.

2. Respect for the Man of the House

3. Cooperative government authorities

4. Profitable Business Environment

5. Fresh fruits and vegetables

6. House help - Nothing beats having someone do your housework for you.

7. The weather - Nothing is better than the cool highlands of Rwanda, Rift Valley Kenya or catching a breeze off Lake Tangayika at Bujumbura

If I could live in Africa, I would want to live in:

1. Harare, Zimbabwe
2. Kigali, Rwanda - on a hill overlooking Kigali
3. Bujumbura, Burundi - Esp. Near Lake Tangayika
4. Nakuru, Kenya
5. Arusha, Tanzania

LIkes--No tax, no property tax.

Dislikes-- insects, mosquitoes, other creepy crawlies, diseases like malaria etc.

What i miss the most back home are...
- The fresh food
- The relatives
- Jaariyadihi aqalka kaaga shaqaynayey.
- The athaan and hearing ALLAHO AKBAR in ever corner when is prayer time.
- The life with no stress or worries.
- The feeling that you get...the you are home for the first time...there is no place like home walle.....ilaahy nabad noogo celi wadankii.

I like the weather.
The fact that I dont stand out in a crowd full of ppl...(well thats debatable)

Uhm.. Every time I visit Somalia, for some reason they always know I'm a diasporan or from somewhere else..even when I don't talk?

I havent been to Somalia since i was like 3...but I would imagine it would be visible to know Im from there...
I think our manarism, the way we walk, look at ppl its completely different.
Heck, I feel that way when I got to Toronto and I grew up 1.5hrs away
