Not to be negative or anything, but when I first clicked on the link I was hoping to see Somalis speaking in there own language, but all I hear is the usual English. I think the first issue "Somali TV" needs to tackle is the dying Somali language...you go to anywhere in the world Somalis are speaking in their host countries language, this in its self I think is serious matter that needs to be raised.

Some things I noticed. One of the guests is dressed like Erykah Badu and there is a fat chick with slanted eyes and big kilimanjaro sized cheeks.

Qansa is it the lady with the scarf wrapped around her head?? I LOOOOOVE that look its elegant classy ..you can wear modest modern clothes to go with it ..better than those tent like jalabiib and abayas!!

abayas are beautiful and decent clothes ES. they cover you body fully without showing your figure. and thats the whole point with islam. for women to cover the shape of her body. im not saying im perfect or wear jalabiib, but i do wear abayah and beleive it gives the power over other people. a respect that ordinary people dont get it.

whats wrong with abaayas E-sista? i love them they are so gorgeous for some reason i can never find one that fits me, they are either too short or too long .

im not sure whats gorgeous about them walaal..they all seem to come in one colour ..with a little dhaldhalaal here and there and hardly any patterns...plus i nearly tripped one too many time with these over flowing abayas..they are a health hazard in themselves and restrictive if you needed to run you wouldnt be able to

I used to wear one occasionally when going to the corner shop/post office only because i couldnt be arsed to dress up

ES abayahs are beautiful with different colours. i think you know the somali versions mostly. ey wear bland black typical abayahs. but it has changed now. different colours, beautiful patterns and se.xy modern shapes/looks. (i post some pictures, because i dont want to have that kinda of view the next time you talk about this subject with someone else. enjoy)



















(apperently the last abayah costed million dirham. most famous for dressing royalty, notably queens and princesses, for their wedding days. Now Bruce Oldfield, the celebrated British couturier, has designs on something equally traditional: the abaya.

Last week in London, Oldfield unveiled what is thought to be the most expensive abaya ever made. Sporting bespoke Crosley diamonds on the collar and cuffs, the garment is valued at about Dh1.27 million (US$365,000).

The market for designer Islamic garments is growing, and, until now, the most expensive abaya cost about Dh364,000.
personally speaking not my time of abayah, but our clothing is as beautiful and attractive and expensive as any. we should be proud of it)
