A/Wahab,
Inshallah I'll be travelling to some rural areas maybe back home very soon. I'm just wondering if these sob's (literily) attack humans because I might just have to pack a tool

FAH,
Not the wild dogs of Kenya but strays who run in huge packs of up to 50 dogs run certain streets in Somali towns.
The Kenyan Wild Dog:

A rare unique African animal

Murax,
They do attack you if they are hungry and you are unarmed. But most likely you will encounter Hyena packs in the wilds of Gedo

Murax,
Just watch your back when visiting the village pit latrine late at night when Hyenas enter towns to scavenge.

Last time i went...something quite strange happened..we woke up one morning and heard that one of the neighbours had passed away..subhanallah a pack of stray dogs stood outside their house and howled throughout the night...while the man was in the final throes of death.ilaahay aunaxariisto

Murax to answer your question..yeah they do attack..thats why they have a policy to either rehome them or putting them to sleep.
which is exactly what the Sahaba did when there was an explosion in the dog population. Rabies is a a killer disease

ES,
Yes, Somalia doesn't have Wild dogs now but used to before the 1990s.
The Wild dogs are now found in Kenya with the most northern ones being in the near NFD. Our wild animals were either killed or fled across into Kenya.
Somalia once had 40,000 Elephants in the Lower Jubba but due to poaching with the help of corrupt officials of the Somali Government of the late President there are none. There were also numerous herds of Giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, lions, gazelles, impala.
The only ones left around are gazelles, ostrich, a few lions and hyenas. Shame considering we had unique animals such as the Somali ass, Somali OStrich, the Somali Gernuk (special gazelle), the Somali Lion, etc.

Abdiwahhab..its really sad that most animals have emigrated to neighbouring countries...but Somalia still has hyneas! We saw some last time we went! even fox lots of monkeys..and i believe i saw an ant eater when i went to the miyiga.
Re: Wild Undomesticated Dogs in Foreign Countries..
Enlightened I heard that. I'm gonna go to K Mart and get the most powerful flashlight I can get and get a good supply of batteries because at night there all out there, and You need to be able to see. I heard there really scared of people btw. Also I heard about the howling all night I hope I'll be able to sleep.
A/Wahab,
Gedo used to have a ridiculous wildlife. My Pops used to sleep 10 feet away from Lions and heard ther roar when they were yards away and they'd walk through jungles in the pitch dark with no lite and go from one town to the next. My Mom heard I was trippin on th
e dogs and said You're the biggest wussy I used to walk by packs of them.

FAH,
There was a major Somali national park near Gobwein, located outside Kismayo.
I did watch a video from Galmudug and saw plenty of Ostriches, Gazelles, Hyenas, and even a Lion along with the unique Obbia Lark
The Hobyo grasslands are still thriving due to few people living there.
Murax,
Gedo was teeming with wild animals. There used to be elephants roaming outside El Waq.
Alas the war wrecked it all but I do believe with peace, our animals will return
