Topic (1) Choosing afriend
Allah the Exalted says in the Qur'an: "And (remember) the Day when the wrong-doer will bite his hands and say: Woe to me! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger. Woe to me! If only I had not taken so- and-so as a friend! He has led me astray from this Reminder (the Qur'an) after it had come to me." [25:27-29].
He also says: "Friends on that Day will be enemies one to another, except al-Muttaqoon (i.e. those who have Taqwah)." [43:67
In an authentic Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "A person is likely to follow the faith of his friend, so look whom you befriend." [reported by Abu Dawood & Tirmidhee].
In another Hadith, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows (respectively). So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith's bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Summary of the topic
Instead of making friends with the misguided ones we should befriend the righteous but still treat everyone else in a gracious and just manner

That is true. If u hang out with people who do all sorts of bad deeds, u are bound to do the same deeds.
I know a lot of kids who were pretty good but fell in with the wrong crowd and now act just like them.
Its always good to be friends with good people.
Thank you for sharing

My Views is what allaah said about them, pseudowizard wrote:Sheik Mustafa,

Yahud or Jews are often referred to as among the "People of the Book (ahlal kitab)," i.e. people who have received and believed in previous revelation from God's prophets.
allah said in the Qur'an:
"The Jews call 'Uzair a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is but a saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. God's curse be on them; how they are deluded away from the Truth! They take their priests and their anchorites to be their lords in derogation of God, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary. Yet they were commanded to worship but One God: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him! (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)" (9:30-31).
In summary of the answer
1. They are ahlul kitab(people of the book)
2. They lie when they call Uzair son of God
3. Allah's Curse will be upon them for Calling Uzair ibn laah or the son of God.
Jzk kheyr.

But that was only refering to the Samaritians. They thought Ezra was the son of God, the rest of them were not blasheming to that extent.
What do you think of the regular Jews that only worship one God?

I have never seen a regular jew myself. I have never gone to where they live. I only know what is in the Qur'an and Hadith about them.
Allaah has called them ahlul kitab. They call Uzair ibn llaah. and they Lie when they said that. And allaah's curse will be on them and Christians for Calling Uzair ibn laah and Issa ibn llaah.
