I think it distinguishes the loonies from the Muslims. Whether or not you think so, we need a word to describe fringe organizations like Al-Shabab, Hamas and Hizbollah.

I never said Hizbollah was a terrorist, but now that you mention it, yes they are. I don't consider it a legitimate government, even if they were democratically elected.

Hamas is an extremist entity. I don't condone their actions, but I think they serve the needs of their constituency and that's all that matters.
