I could be wrong but I sometimes get apprehensive When I see lands that don't have rivers, with stagnant sitting water because I think of malaria and mosquitoes. I'm not talking about streams btw.

Puntland has many small rives, even dry ass Bosaso/Bari you can find big streams you can swim in that are 8 meters deep. With proper irrigation this state could be made pretty green.

These are not zoo animals, come close to them and they attack you. PS I also saw warthogs, hyenas and a small cheetah..But they all were too fast for the camera :x

Beautiful pictures.

An enormous amount of water, I beleive the entire runoff from the Nugaal, flows over the cliff at Eyl. This water could be collected, pumped up, and used to irrigate a very large area. They have been growing yams at Eyl for many years, but this could be greatly expanded and could include grain crops, fruit trees, etc.

Dawwa,

Are u near Eyl ? My uncles used to own several stores out there in the 1940-60s.

Nice pics.

Its just unfortunate how the land of Mudug/Galgaduud and Nugaal either are plentiful or devastated. Those two extremes make life difficult.

The rains came late.

Someone posted pictures about a month ago, jiust as the rains came to the same general area. The camels were really scrawny, with a lot more bone showing than that. These look like they are starting to fill out again.
