As nasty as it sounds, women "supress" their farts (which is not healthy) and are more polite about it

You think man farts smell bad, wait until a woman farts in a movie theater some time.
Women can clear movie theater or a packed stadium in the blink of an eye.

It's probably just that men take more pride in farting than most women. There is a large variation among individuals in the amount of fart gas they produce per day, but the variation does not correlate with gender.
