I think someone said there are no mawlid celebrations/Sufis in Saudi Arabia..this washington post article
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01380.html and the videos embedded below will hopefully educate people regarding this.

Salafi scholar Salman Al Odah accepts invitation from Sufi cleric Abdallah Fadaaq to attend the Mawlid ( celebration of Prophet's birth peace be upon him )
Also many scholars of the Grand Mosque in Makkah were traditional Sunni Sufis like the Scholar As Sayyid Muhammed Al Alawi Al Maliki Al Makki who sadly passed away in 2004 at the age of 60. May Allah grant him jannah amiin.Heres a video of him i found on Youtube.
A Grand Sufi Zikr and Mawlid in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with Shaykh Sayyid Muhammad Alawi Maliki
Heres a brief Bio

As Sayyid Mohammed Al 'Alawi Al Maliki Al Makki, descendant of Prophet Muhammed peace and blessings be upon him. He was a Scholar of Tafseer (interpretation of the Qur'an), Hadith (the sayings of the Prophet), Fiqh (Islamic law), Aqeedah (tenets of faith) and Seerah (Prophetic biography)
He was born to a family of traditional Maliki scholars of ancestral residence in the Holy City. His grandfather was the Qadi (Chief Judge) of Makkah and an Imam of the Holy Mosque, the site of the Ka'bah.
His father Sayyid 'Alawi taught and lectured in the precincts of the Holy Mosque for 30 years until he passed away in 1971. When his father died for three days there was only Qur'an in Makkah's radios.
Saudi Arabian news paper reports ..more than 600 students attended his last lecture which lasted until 2 am..an hour before he died.

a photo of him with Imam Habib Ali Al Jaffry another traditional Sunni scholar from the Ba 'Alawi Sufi Tariqah

So next time..think twice before you lump all Sufis in one bag..and shout ' MUSHRIKIIN' destined for Jahannum!!..there are True Sufis and False ones...recognise this fact inshaAllah
