Lucky man. I dream of the day that letter comes through my door. Because in the UK, your company has to give you the required time off with full pay, plus the court pays for your travel, food etc. The shit is like a holiday and usually the case is minor such as theft, drugs etc.

You can excuse yourself..by saying that you have a bias against the defendant or something..

Or they might not even require your service..they let you come..and waste time for a day or 2 just to tell you that you are not needed..sometimes.

See the problem is, I don't feel like driving 20 miles to the court house and then they say "oh we dont need you" and then i go back and waste gas like crap

FAH,

I got sent once to a white suburb for jury duty and guess what, none of the sides showed up. I got the full day off from work and slept

One way to get out is to show bias or let them know you have family who are in law enforcement or are in a relationship with one
