It's probably because in religion there are certain things that we have to believe in and definitely not question. Scientists always want and need an explanation to everything. They always start off with "Why" and "How".

Yes, of course, you obtain knowledge by asking questions. When it comes to religion it's very easy to ask questions which actually might lead you astray. That's when we have to stop and re-think. With Scientists, i don't think they actually stop themselves, they keep asking and pushing it until they loose all faith in religion. To them everything has an answer, if it doesn't they simple don't believe in it.

look on youtube, there are plenty of scientists who convert to islam as it gives the answers to the questions they seek

and the answers are simple which they would never have imagined of
