My grandfather (mother side) went to Mogadishu in 1930's, so my mum was born there.
He was one of the few Majeerteens in Mogadishu then.
My father moved from Kismaayo to Mogadishu in the 70s

Father born in a town in the south. Mother born in Hamar My maternal grandfather came to Mogadishu while still a boy 6 or 7. He was born in 1905, so do the math. My paternal grandfather was in his teens when he came. My maternal grandmother was born in Hamar. I need to double check where my paternal grandmother was born.

why all Daarood claim been into Xamar long ago>?? not even the dark shiny Agaal were allowed in Xamar.
In 1920 and before the old city of Moqdisho was walled all around, and every day the local Arabs/Persians/ rounded up the dark nomads and mad sure they leave the city before sunset. After 1920 the Italian demolished the wall and built the city, the first wave of dark immigrant were the Majeerteen fishermen, the Italian goverment after getting rid of its former Daarood servial sultans deported some and forced others to settle in Mogdisho, but those were few less then 20 familes.
The other dark hords came later, one old Ashraaf dude put it this way:
" before us original reer Hamar we use to eat our food while laying in our beds, at first the Majeerteen came so we had to sit up eating, then the Hawiye came so start eating standing up, then the Daarood refugees from all over came and we start eating while running"
You can read all that and more in the book by the Arab historian Sharif Ayadaruus Ali Al Aydaruus in his book " Bughyat al-amaal fii taariikh al somaal" published in 1954 by the Italian colonial goverment making it the first book of history for southern Somalia.
