I think somalis originated from oromos. Most of the somali cities names like Hargeisa, kismayu, bakool, xudur are all in oromo languages.

Nope they all look alike. I think even Oromos themselves acknowledge our resemblance and similarities in culture and language.
One of my Oromo friend once attempted to explain to me how Somali's are lost Oromo's to which provoked the Somali in me to answer curtly that indeed Oromos were lost Somali's and not the other way around. I was left speechless when she asked how that could be possible when they is far greater Oromo population (talk about faux-pas!)
