I know this question has been asked by many biased forumers, but in reality, it's a question that begs for an answer. So, since I am unknown (qabiilwise) I think I stand a good chance of being free of bias and this question should be addressed as per it's merit.


What does Hawiye want? I mean when it comes to the state of the motherland. Do you guys have an agenda, strategy and destination?


I will state my reasons of asking it but for now, let's focus on the question.

If you want the honest truth...NO we have no AGENDA. But then again, who does? Somalis need to work collectively whether we like it or not to achieve anything substantial if we want peace and future for our country. The only agenda that we have is self interest(individually) and that is not what is needed.

1992- Americans & UN show up and interfere

1995 - 2001 - Relative calm and peace

2001 - Foreign interference via the Carta Conference

2002-2004 - Foreign intereference via Nairobi Conference

2004-2006 - Foreign interference in the Wadaad Vs. Warlords war

2006 - Uprising against foreign interference and establishment of an inclusive Hawiye administration which was toppled by the Foreigners & their agents.


So would you have asked the same question if the Hawiye rose up in 1967 after their son Abdullahi Isse was unfairly disqualified to run for President ? Or if the Hawiye rose up in 1969 against the Revolution ? Or if the Hawiye rose up and started a civil war in 1971 when their son Salad Gabeire was slaughtered ?

Hawiye took a lot of abuse for many years before rising up in 1989. Remember that Hawiyedom was the ONLY PLACE in Somalia that did not have direct relations with Ethiopia and hosted freedom fighters like the ONLF.

Don't make the mistake of assuming a few men speak for Hawiye. We are a nation of millions with the most prime real estate in the land which is our blessing and curse.
