Do we lack human compassion? Are we ungrateful to Allah?

I am so deeply saddened at how low us Somali's can stoop. Even at the state of our home country we are still afflicted with the terrible disease of tribalism. I am not talking about the wider Somalia population I am speaking directly to Som'net members who on the surface appear to be shrewd individuals . My dear fellow forumers there are some people here who speak nothing but faeces, spread hate and demonstrate their qabiil discrimination. Wallahi it mentally and emotionally scars me. I thought it was one or two members at first but runtii its prevalent it makes me want to shed real tears! Why aren't they banned or given some sort of restriction on their clan abuse?
In our home country corruption and atrocities are prevailing in the form of daily horrific physical violence. I don't think we actually sat down and pondered at what this must be like. Envisage hearing ear-piercing gunshots, envisage hearing of your aunt, sister, mother being brutally raped. Envisage not only hearing but seeing your brother being held at gunpoint, his bruised and battered face, the way his lifeless body hits the ground.
With family being subjected to heinous abuse, also add to that the shortage of food. The implications the drought in conjunction with the rising inflation has meant on your family. It is bad enough that many do not give charity to those who have to live in these conditions but how dare you endorse this ill-mentality when it could have easily been you?
How can anyone dare to harbor let alone utter any contempt of anther's clan knowing that is what caused the demise in Somalia? Aren't we being ungrateful to the Al Mighty who has safeguarded us and enabled to live and work for a better future? Why do we spread hate to another individuals clan when they are our Muslim brothers? Allah has made us into nations and tribes so that we may know each other, aren't we being ungrateful to the truly remarkable gift he has given us? Why do we ridicule each one others clan when we know we will be held accountable?
It is times like these I reflect, maybe Somalia
is a hopeless place full of hopeless people.

Good topic, sis. I don't know if you've noticed, but it's mostly the brothers who are running around with this qabiil mentality, thinking that they're aiding their qabiil in Somalia by spouting nonsense here day in and day out. Ilahay ha naga qabto nimankaa soomaaliyeed , Ilahay ha uu naxariisto those who died, and Ilahay ha uu gargaaro inta nool. Ameen.

What's your other nick?
Anyways, you haven't said anything that hasn't been said before. We all know the problems, we just have no solutions for them.

Ameen. Yes, it predominatly the brothers, but the sisters are not entirely excluded too.

Bro, I'm sure these questions have been asked many times but I'm just shocked to see how its tolerated down here. Is it just me or is this not sickening? The first steps to solution is acknowledging you have an issue then working towards set objectives. I honestly believe if each of us did our little bit our combined efforts would be worth something, synergy its called when the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Even if it makes only one person reflect on their own behavior that is one less person and their offspring with this mentality.

Wallahi I am new and if there is more to find out I think I've seen enough ugliness. This may not mean much but I don't think I'll be posting here. I can stand such bs! If we can't change something with our actions, we're meant to change it with our words, if not that our thoughts. Yaa Allah forgive us.

Wrong. Somali sisters have the qabil mentality as well.

This is meant to be a healthy discussion about our attitudes to qabiil, please bear that in mind.

Wrong. Somali sisters have the qabil mentality as well.
Did I say they didn't? I said it's
mostly the brothers. So read carefully next time before you jump down my throat.
Tuba:- Yes, walaal. The sisters have the qabiil mentality too, sadly.

Saxiib where they fought is not the point here...Somalidu waa wada duugag ha kala ficnadeen! I agree with you that Somalis in Somaliland tend too be more peace loving then the ones in South. But they still fight.

Okay
I like you're idealism, but people are generally selfish and work for their interests, it's human. Don't expect too much from somali's. Maybe somalinet is not the right environment for you, this place runs on politics and qabil. Try somaliaonline.
