My relatives visited back home to berbera, they literally had to stand very far from the port like the locals who are prohibited to go near, and they only looked on as Ethopians and their workers been hard at work. Ethiopians and their workers are the only ones permitted entry - hard fact to swallow - but is true. Plus is not a big secret that this econ-friendly strategic town is severely neglected in comparison to the flamboyant east Burco (not west burco) and some areas in Hargeysa and underdevelopment, hunger, more all at present in Berbera. Unlike many coastline cities in the Horn of Africa where either they are treasured or have a power struggle between inhabitants for who will inherit its bounty.

Berbera still lives in the dark age !!!

what lies, i was there march this year, my older brother had his goods arrive at the port, served by landers top official cise muse, i wasnt prohibited to enter, ethiopians pay just like anyone else.

actually Berbera was sold to the Ethiopians few years ago through the "Berbera Corrider" backed by the European Commission. they say its to strengthen the progress between the 2 "countries" while falling short of actually recognizing the sovereignty of one of the nations involved. Somaliland is good enough to be a country when its doing shady deals to benefit Ethiopia but not good enough to be recognized as a sovereign country when other matters of its own benefit come to play.
