Women and Work
Should women work..because they want to, or because they have to??
"Once married, while she may still work if she chooses to, it is the husband's responsibility to support her and their children. She is under no obligation to contribute financially from her earned salary and her husband has no right to whatever money she has earned. However, this is not to say she can't contribute, but in the end, the choice is hers"
Do you agree or disagree?? and why??

Re: Women and Work
depending on the line of work, i wouldn't mind if my wife works or not. i'm capable of supporting her but if she worked hard on her education who am i to say no? the problem is when she is making more money than you.

Re: Women and Work
What do you mean by the line of work?? you have limits?? and what if she ends up making more money than you? why take that risk at all??

Re: Women and Work
If my man was extremely rich i will not work. If he can afford a huge masion estate in the best of the cities and suburbs, two villa slash cabin for summer vacations, one in Europe and the other in the US--and a dont ask, dont tell policy on my shopping spree, a chauffeur -- i am more than willing to stay home and just make babies. Cawar, can u afford that?

Re: Women and Work
hey, man. the rules are simple, if your woman is making more money than you, she owns you. cawar, by line of work i mean if the job she is doing is hard labor or something...i wouldn't allow my wife to do any stressful work. anaa shaqo u haayo

Cawar- if u r that rich, i will allow u to have 4 wives. Islam allows that so i will not complain. Of course with condition, i am the first wife, the partriach of the dynasty if you will. And also u have to be really super rich. Cawar it seems u want to be a bachelor for the rest of your life. Thats not a bad choice, but why is that, i wonder?

I'd like to be financially independent.
Re: Women and Work
Basra,
I dont know why..but it feels good to be single..and most married guys I know..are in some sort of a jail..their freedom taken away forever.
But lets reverse the case..and in this modern twenty-first century, where the onus to work/ earn is equally on men and women, shouldn't men be also allowed this right?
Unfortunately in some parts of the world, social conditioning still expects the man of the house to be the breadwinner. So could we extend this choice to men also? And most imp, who would run the house then?

Re: Women and Work
I don't plan on getting married before I'm 30, Insha-Allah. I'd work full time, but once I have children I will work from home and/or stop working, and start working part time once my children reach school age.
