Foreigners in Puntland

Post by dawwa9 »

At the airport of Bosaso Somali diasporans with UK, US etc passports don't have to pay shit for visas, but white people (mostly russians), indians, arabs, kenyans etc (these groups come to Puntland the most) when they visit Puntland they have to pay 150$ for a 3 months visa

racist Puntlanders

Russians / Formal Sovjet countries: ALWAYS doctors, medical staff and engineers etc

Whites (western Euros): humanitarians/NGO workers, these people never leave their compounds pretty scared people, high kidnap ratio

Arabs: business mostly, theyre not afraid of Puntlanders they walk around Bosaso, even the rich Omanis/Kuwaitis. A big pharmacy in Garowe is run by some Saudi guy.

Indians: business mostly or IT technicians/teachers

Pakistanis: some weird sheikhs from Pakistan always coming to Puntland, I don't know what the reason behind this, mysterious..maybe Al Qaida who knows. Theres this Pakistani guy in Gaalkacyo that is wanted by the Pakistani government for over 15 years, he opened up a steak house in central Gaalkacyo

Kenyans: ALWAYS teachers, theyre pretty cheap and speak good English and are nearby so Puntland universties and schools hire them always.

There is also a small group of poor Sri lankans in Bosaso (around 200) that were screwed by human traffickers and are now stuck in Bosaso for over 4 years, some learned basic Somali

They should talk to abdullahi yusuf to help them out, he kinda of look sri lankan.

But, anyways that's how it should be. Make foreigners pay for their visit in puntland.

But most of those somali's were born in somalia and had somali passport except perhaps the kids sent for dhaqan celis. It's not unfair, and it makes sense.

When I was departing from Puntland there was this small group of Kenyans that also were with the same flight as me. I think they were 3 Bantu Kenyans and 1 NFD Kenyan, the Sijui guy didn't have to pay the 70$ departure tax but the 3 Bantus had to so they got mad because all 4 had Kenyan passports. They were complaining about the unfairness the entire time.

This rule doesn't make any sense

In that case, that was unfair. But still, do you think somali's should pay money to visit their ancestral land? That makes no sense.
