Washing of Walid....

Post by Starscream »

Cawro is principally the male and female genitals, booty and women's bust for clarity. Ok.. bal fiiri, been thinking about this issue for a while now, so here it goes, when your waalid (parents, grandparents) are sick or disabled, and they can't wash themselves, are their kids allowed to wash them and thus see their waalid in adam's costume. I'm talking about a teenage girl exposed to her grandfather's woohoo! for instance or a grown man exposed to his mother. You know what I mean, arin foolxun soo ma ahan? What are the rules and regulations on this and where are the limits and what is preferred? I'm curious about this, but I don't feel comfortable asking this question or discussing it with people around me.

Jazakallahu kheir in advance!

I did for my grandma and I know women and men who did it for their parents. Lakin its best if a male deals with males and vice versa. I also heard, wayeelka caawro maleh.

I share the same view with you, but what about a male with female, isn't that to be avoided at all times?

Stars,

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, when my granpa was sick and dying, we all took turns to do his personal care, sometimes you don't have a choice in the matter,

No, not if they are your walid...sidey uu avoid gareenkaarta, ayako ku bahaan? if that is the case what happens if you are a male who is the only one that is able to assist your mother or vice versa. You have no choice sometimes but to do it. Besides wa ajar iyo xasnaat. I'm personally not bothered by it.

I hear you both, the reason I asked this is b/c my grandmother is sick and dying, half her body is paralyzed and mentally she's not there anymore, I've been carrying my grandmother to the toilet and been washing her for months now among other things, but I never asked myself what the Islamic teaching about this was and I never bothered to ask, but all of the sudden I'd really like to know about hadith verses about this particular issue.

But thanks guys, really appreciate your input and good to know you were in the same boat as me now.
