Somali and Fulani comparison
these two ethnic groups are very much similar, they are both afro-asiatic and are 100% muslim, they both have a very strong islamic culture and identity maybe the fulanis might be more educated but the two ethnic groups are very similar. there are roughly 16 million somalis in east africa, and 16 million fulanis in west africa.
however in west africa, fulanis have produced heads of state in 4 different countries. it can easily be argued that fulanis control west africa. can the same be replicated by somalis in east africa? think about it
Here is a list of Fulani heads of state and prime-minsiters. these people rise to priminent positions yet they do not form a majority in any single country.

Re: Somali and Fulani comparison
Its ridiculous to compare Fulanis to Somalis.
In the 5th century AD, the Fulanis, alongside other ethnic powerhouses in West Africa, like the massive Hausa - had established states while Somalis were still climbing the evolutionary ladder.
The topic starter must be trying to kiss Somali ass by comparing a well-accomplished race of people to the likes of the worthless heap of qashin that reside in Somalia and Itoobiya.
Try comparing banana peals to Somalis, I think Somalis might have a better chance in that comparison.

Re: Somali and Fulani comparison
^^ does that include somaliland?

Re: Somali and Fulani comparison
I don't think fulani and somali's are ethnically related, and politically fulani's are way ahead of somali's, they are the most political dominant group in west africa, and they run nigeria unfortunately they are also very corrupt and have wasted oil resources of the country even though the majority of the oil is not in fulani territory.

Re: Somali and Fulani comparison
look up the Sokoto Sultanate.
The Fulani domiated the Hausa city states and exmapnded the empire to inclide all the four countries and
more..
they have been the religous and political elite of the muslim west africans.
The physical similiarity to somalis is great
the current president of nigeria can easily pass for a somali.

some fulanis disguise themselves as Hausa in their quest for power.eri_jeberti wrote:

Fulanis and somalis are very similar there is no question about that.
the main difference is that the Fulani are very skillful leaders they were able to establish sharia in nigeria without american intervention. from the way things are going sharia could soon expand to Niger and Mali..thanks to the fulani
