Why Can't the Govt Bail Out Students

Since the US govt is bailing out banks, why can't it bail out students ?

Forgive our Student Loans and that will free up a lot of cash for us to spend and there by stimulating the economy. You will get repaid through income tax revenues over the expected 46 years of work by the average college graduate.

I really empathize with those students who graduated under GW's term. Grants were severely cut under GW and loans were being pushed to fill the gap.

Back when Bill Clinton was in charge, financial aid was great. They were dishing out Pell grants like candy

In the UK the Student aid/grant you receive is almost sufficient to cover the tutition fee. So if you use your money wise and get a part-time job you wont need a student loan. I will graduate debt-free next year inshallah.

Besides most somali parents here are more than happy to pay for their kids education, I have notice that somali parents are more keen on helping their kids once they became young adults than cadaan and black parents.

Financial aid and scholarships take care of my school. Parents do the rest, but government should do more to help out students. The Bush plan is messed up.

Cali Students get great deals at their public institutions. I got friends who went to UCLA, Cal Tech, UC Fullerton
