Were there any businesses that sold flowers, palm trees and just general plants in puntland?
How come it looks so barren?

Man, I must be the Puntland expert around here
As you know most Puntlanders are poor people and don't have the money for a lush green garden (it requires a lot of fresh water).
I have seen a small tree nursery in Garowe which sold small Raqey, Labi-doqon, Eucalyptus and Geed hindi trees (these are the most popular trees in Puntland in gardens, but in Bosaso they also have a lot of date palms).
Never seen someone selling flowers.
The greenest garden in Puntland I seen is that of International village Hotel in Bosaso, it looks like a small forest!
Puntland is far from desert, I never seen sand dunes everywhere there is some scrubs. This is how the environment of Puntland looks outside the cities (mostly acacia trees)

Puntland expert, because you were the last puntlander to go there.
Anyhow, how come they don't get those plants that need less water.

Re: Dawwa Come in !!!!!!
We need roads and plants and street lights and we are set.
Re: Dawwa Come in !!!!!!
All the trees they plant can survive in Puntland when they are mature. But the first 8-10 years they need weekly irrigation, until the roots are deep enough to be dependent on groundwater.
Some like the acacia trees (Qurac) can survive on their own.
I would love to see these kind of palms in Puntland:

These useless governmental people could careless about the cities and there road maintenance and trees to make them look good.
Re: Dawwa Come in !!!!!!
They only need like 2% tax on all major businesses in Bosaso and boom you easily have 10 million....which they could use to pave Bosaso and plant trees with.
If they are not going to do anything, you should try setting up some NGO/Action group. You never know...

After a couple of years I plan on going back and making things change in Puntland. Especially the bigger towns and cities like bosaaso and garoowe and galkacyo.
