How do people just get married for the sake of it? I see guys waiting 'till they hit 40 and send for a wife back home, then having a bunch of kids & acting like its just a casual affair.

Can you do it? I sure as hell can't.

marriage is what life is all about...you should't wait until you are 40...maha ka haray markad 40 garto ood wali kujirtid haran...all this dating stuff waa haran and waste of time...

Procreation alone isn't a good enough reason to wed & we both know it. What about life-long companionship?

Kolombo,

Companionship is good but you can get that with a girlfriend/mistress. What you can not do in Somali culture is having children out of wedlock and not endure any shame for them.

But nothing wrong with going back home and marrying.

AW,

How long can any man endure having relations with a girlfriend/mistress before his conciense eats at him? Why not seek companionship in a wife, that way Allah will be pleased with you & you sire legitimate children. If morality isn't an issue, then that's a different story.
