Afars are interested in joining Greater Somalia. They are more interested than Somali Djiboutians in fact.James Dahl wrote:Why stop there? Afars and Arsi Oromos are Muslim and close relatives of Somalis.
The Oromos on the other hand, are rapidly becoming Habeshized. They are on the same boat today as the Tigrays or Amharas.

Re: An Alternative to Greater Somalia
This is an ideal solution , but sadly not possible under the circumstances.
If somalia had no external threats or a force like Ethiopia interfering then this is the most likley evolution of somalia.....
if you take all the circunstances into consideration, to achieve freedom we would need central
preferably islamic rule.

Re: An Alternative to Greater Somalia
We cannot go our seperate ways untill ethiopia is out of the picture.
untill ethiopia weakens we are forced to seek a united somalia..
unless you are lucky with the historic circumstances and escape like somaliland.

Is this what Somalis are advocating for? The fragmentation of the Somali State into series of powerless qabil-utopia that are too weak to formulate their own policies and at the mercy of Ethiopian bullying and exploitation. May God bless this country we call Somalia.

You can still have a Somali Union, just different states.
