I think we are all racists/clanist to an extent

I just found out last night.

A man from certain clan sent delegation on his behalf to be betrothed to my cousin (she grew up in our household and is like a sister to me.) The elders had afur at our place and I was a member of the service crew, running to and fro carrying sambusa filled/empty plates, I could hear the proposals, I could also hear a little lie hear and there in praise of the alleged groom. My cousin and the dude love each other and it was her consent that initiated the elder's summoning our gathering. At first, I was genuinely happy for her, then something somewhere in my brain clicked (by just realizing his clan) and I almost blurted out "I object" but restrained myself.

Now, The reason I am against this engagement has nothing to do with the dude personally, it's his clan that I just can't stand mixing with mine (and that goes for all Somali clans). Don't get me wrong here, I think every Somali clan--or every nationality for that matter --have it's pros and cons just like mine, and I am not in any shape or form suggesting that my clan is better than any other clan, it's just I like every clan to stick on it's own and we all get along very well.

Now, I voiced my concern about this union that may take place (or not if my plan works) and it seems that it brought out a part of me that I had no idea it existed!!!

My conclusion is, every human being is a racist/clanist to and extent, but there are bad racists and good racists, I side with the good ones. You know, not putting down other clans but still no desire of mixing with them and acknowledging their praiseworthy traits and peculiarities.

I am extremely inclined to agree with costa that the mentioned, Disapproved qabil in question is : MJ.
