whats your opinion of girls moving out of home????

Post by surrender »

hi :D

whats your opinion of somali girls or any muslim girl moving out of home? for whatever reason. i know few somali girls that decided to move out of home because of university and jobs.

would u take the chance of moving out of home, if u got a good, well paid job else where, or got in the best uni around? and would your parents let you?

Personally, I wouldnt move out- even if I got in the best university. Why am I even going to apply for a far uni? Its not necessary at all. As for getting a job- I would try my best to not move out if I can cope with travelling. If the case was to move out to work, wallahi I think I would leave it :|

A girl should stay at HOME, and only move out when she gets married. Guriga hooyo iyo aabo wax ka fiican ma leh marka aad single tahay!

I think its best to stay at home, i could never picture myself leaving home *the whole family would fall apart*

But if you cant get a job or a uni place in your hometown, than its best to apply to a city/town where you have family, so you could live with them, or be close by.

East..for some weird reason i always thought you were a guy, sorry. anyways your right, guriga hoyo wax kafiican malaha. i just asked this question because is sept as you all know, and i know many girls that applied for a far away uni, and now are having a dead lock with their parents because they wona move out, but parents are saying no. some already have and are having bad relationship with their parents because of it. i agree with you on this one though. a girl shouldnt apply to a far away uni if she cant make it via commuting. i do that. i applied to uni far away but i commute.

Its so funny how many of them move out coz they think their getting FREEDOM, you'd think their parents home was camp x-ray :? ...

But anyway back to the topic, GIRLS SHOULD STAY AT THEIR PARENTS HOME UNTIL THEY IS MARRIED  ...

And like est said you don't need to apply to a uni far from home, a student accomadation is no place for a muslim girl, .. and as for work.. why not work in the city you live in :? ...

Like I said EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES...

Parents keep you grounded stay at home

Although i decided to stay home and study at a local uni, i don't see what the problem is if a girl does decide to study at a university outside of her city. If she gets the chance of studying at a good uni then why not? It'll benefit not just her but also her parents inshallah in the long run. The same if she finds a good well-paid job, it'd probably be a good opportunity so why should she give that up?

^ Most girls *I've seen* deliberately hand pick Uni's that are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from home, only to live the single life. Most of the time it has nothing to do with education but rather freedom :?

MS as much as i agree with you about being benefit not just for her, but her family. at the same time, girl needs to stay at her parents yard. is as MS said, parents keep you grounded at home, and anyways that were she is respected and have a dignity. i think.

Shawty,

Then that's just stupid walaahi... The ones i've seen have always been very motivated and the only reason they've moved from home is either because of work or studies.

Surrender,

I see where you're coming from, but if you were offered a once in a life-time opportunity you shouldn't give that up. I know a lot of somali girls deliberately choose uni's far away, but there are some girls who can't find the programme they want at their local university, and have had to apply for others and gotten in. That doesn't mean they'll lose their respect or their dignity.

If an one in a lifetime opportunity presents itself...I do not see the problem...

If a child of mine got into Oxford (wishful thinking) or was offered the job of their dreams, I wouldn't hold them back....

Moving out of your parents house doesn't mean that you will lose your sharaf...

That being said, there are some girls oo fudud who need a watchful parent one who will impose a curfew...
