A Hamilton mother and daughter have been charged with robbery with a weapon after a home invasion that left a man with head injuries after he was struck with a sock containing a hard object.

Police say a man answered a knock at his door at Wilson near Sanford Friday afternoon and found himself forced backwards by two women. When one of the women hit the 31-year-old man in the head with a sock sap, he locked himself in another room while the robbers ransacked the home. They stole electronicsand the man's cell phone.

On Sunday, police arrested a 46-year-old woman and her 20-year-old daughter and charged them with break and enter and robbery with a weapon.
