As we grow we learn the art of compromise. We, as women, do whatever it takes to get the man, keep the man, and eventually marry. We will tolerate all their little behaviors for the sake of the children and the family.

What were we thinking? Why?

First of all, these young girls have it made today. The Feminist movements of the '60's have opened so many doors for them! Title IX assures them of equal monies in college. They have so many opportunities!

And yet, it is still all about the guy!

Well, I'm here to tell you to get on with your life without the guy. You don't need him. Stop waiting. Stop trying so hard. And for goodness sake, stop chasing!

Young girls want to be loved, but start by loving yourself. That emotionally immature testosterone hunk isn't capable of loving you until much, much later. If he is trying to convince you otherwise, ask yourself what he really wants from you. Hey - and you know what he wants! That hasn't changed in years. It is all about sex. Nothing more. That is what he is about!

If he doesn't get what he wants, he will pout. He will distance himself from you, and it will be your fault! He will become aggressive with you, and he will play the game of "If you loved me, you would....." Just fill in the blank! Abuse isn't just about being smacked around. Don't let him belittle you, call you names, or even roll his eyes!

So let's dial ahead 30+ years. Still waiting for the guy to come home and grace the home with his presence. Why is he always late? You should be asking yourself that question.

When you find out he has been cheating on you, dump him. Even in divorce, they are unreliable with custody issues, irresponsible with financial issues, and dishonest.

It's a shame because men are such interesting, beautiful creatures, but there just don't seem to be many out there that are ready to be on equal footing with a woman unless it is on their personal terms and agenda.

Their promises are not meant to be kept.
