Actually I like Al Franken for two things, first he is funny compared to Coleman who boring!
secondly, The democrats need enough senators to take over the senate! and if we send Norm back, the republicans will give Obama a hard time.

But Norm Coleman has been good to Somalis, he work with us here in MN, he talked about Somali war back home, and the immigration problems, he even send a letter to my own brother about his immigration problems.

We don't know who to vote for!

Kramer fock national politics if he is good to your constituency. By all acoounts the Democrats are already taking it big, keep the man who is good to you. He will be even MORE good to you knowing how valuable you are to him.

It may be a good thing that Sen . Coleman may have done few things for somalis.. I think every senator usually does that for his/her constituentc anyways..

But Franken would be a better choice and a message that enforces Obama's , that a majority in the senate would make things and policies work applicable .
And this will in turn force Franken to be more indebted to somalis during his tenure in the senate.. like having some leverage over him.

Cawar, why the hell do Somalis care if Obama has enough Democratic senators to pass gay marriage or other super-liberal things?? Somalis are recent immigrations and their only conern is their immediate environment. Obama is already going to sway the nation towards the preferred Somali economic and foreign policy position, what they need to think about is their domestic affairs as in dealing with minnesota and also have a strong voice in their for somalia (of which COleman has become along with senator Feingold from my observation of congress).

Somalis should seriously vote COleman. THe belief is that there are already enough demorats going to be in power (hell even Georgia which no thought is neck to neck between CHambliss and the democratic guy) somalis should keep their man is what I am saying who will be een more beholden and greateful to them.

Also can you imagine a REPUBLICAN championing somalia (which he is very well likely to do) in a democratic presidency, talk about getting notied and bipartisanship.

This is a savy political position dude, if you dont understand it, politics aint your thang.

The real Q is ...what good can he do if sent back to the senate..than say Franken cant potentially do??

The only difference is that Franken agrees with the propable future president almost 100% , while Coleman will have his republican agenda to disagree with it almost 100% of the time.

Voltage was always a conservative no doubt, I suspect he even supports McCain!

Coleman was good, but we never know whether Al franken will be better, that is a risk Somalis have to take!

There are alot of reasons to vote for Al Franken and here they are:

Al Franken is trying to stop high college tuitions, which is an issue for me and alot of Somali students.

Al Franken wants to stop the war, and get Americans troops out of Iraq! which is another issue for alot of Somalis and Muslim Americans.

Al Franken is good for healthcare

Al franken supports Obama, and will make the senate filiburst free!

Cons of Al Franken
he is famous, there by making him arrogant
he had a shady past, like drug addiction, gross jokes, and reckless behavior
he may not be as responsible and as serious as Coleman!

Cons of Norm Coleman

He supports Bush and he endorsed McCain
He didn't do anything about education and healthcare
He wants to keep American tropps in Iraq
He will filiburster the senate
