Jeferson was a hottie. He slept with a slave whose was half white, Sarah-- half sister of his white wife. He was attracted to her because she was 'his' type. How can u be attracted to two sisters, despite they half cast status. I think he is one of my favs presidents. Abraham lincoln is another favorite. Of course Clinton--aahahh mon dieu ! :love: 8)

Sally Hemings was not related to Jefferson's wife, who was ill for a significant part of her life,and died early on.

Jefferson was bankrupt when he died. He managed somehow to free Sally Hemings and her children upon his death, but the field hands were sold.

Grant i dispute that. Sally was half sister to his wife. of course the disputed that due to the stigma and embrassment, but modern dna has proven otherwise. Go research.

The memoirs of Madison Hemings, Sally Hemings' oldest son. He says his great grandfather was an English sea captain by the name of Hemings, who acknowledged fathering a daughter on a slave belonging to John Wales. This child was reaised in the great house and eventually became John Wales concubine. She had six children by him, one of whom was Sally. Thomas Jefferson married Martha Wales, who inherited Sally and the rest of the Hemings family on her father's death.
