I was curious. Yeah man, this is indeed demeaning to one's origin and culture and it does signal inferioity complex. They simply don't know who they are. They are neither white nor black. They are quick to pick up the anti-black prejudice most common with early and recent immigrants and they disingenuously invoke an Arab grandparent to include themselves among the victims should the opportunity present itself.

It is sad. I remember being in Saudi and I couldn't believe the lengths some of these ladies would go to to look white. I was at a beauty salon and there was a dark skinned Saudi there getting ready for her weddin. Subhana'Allah she has so much white powder on her face that she looked whiter than me. I just don't get the mentality. Many times they would ask me where my husband was from, and when I would say Somali they would stand there puzzled. They they would rub their face and say "why". THen they would ask me if I loved him.

Riighaye, there are Arabs who are as white as southern Europeans like those who are Lebanase or Syrians.The rest of the Arabs people can be considered others and not pure whites.

It's my believe most Arabs love to be gaalo-like. I remember back in Cairo, some of my class mates would argue that they weren't part of Africa but Middle East. They don't even want to be tied to black Africa.

Man do I dislike Arabs.
