Here are four saints of the Banadir Culama. Shaikh Uways was apparently burried in Biyoole, not in a mosque. Can anyone tell me which of these was removed by the ICU from the mosques in Merka and Baraawe?
Sheikh Nurein Ahmed Sabir al-Hatimi (d. 1327 H)
Sheikh Qassim bin Muhyiddin al-Barawi (d. 1340 H)
Dada Masiti (d. 1339 H)
Sheikh Moallim Nur Haji Abdulkadir (d. 1379 H)

KOA,
They were removed from inside Masjids in Marka & Baraawe, whereby people would face them during prayer commiting Shirk. Also, people used to make pilgrimage to these graves, praying to the dead men to intercede on their behalf to Allah. They were given proper burial and buried in a graveyard.
Don't let Grant fool you.

Ohh ok now i get it. Its like how some Shia pray for Ali and when calling prayer use his name instead of Mohamed pbuh, now i get it. I thought those wadaads are somehow scavengers eating dead bodies.

Walee Wahabis like to fabricate things, people come to worship Allah not some dead sheikh...if you Wahabis have such a dirty mind let's not force your dirty ideology on others...the prophet (pbuh) is buried in a Masjid should we dig him out as well?
Walaaahi this people need to be exterminated.

Still on a desparate mission to fabricate & modify the religion, eh?
Newsflash: They won't love you anymore than they already hate you.
Nothing worse than a self-hating lackey.

What this looks like to me is the Akhwan took over Suufi mosques during the ICU occupation. There has been no outcry because the coastal peoples are not armed.
I am open to other explanations, but I cannot believe the natives of Merka and Baraawe would have done this themselves. I smell export mutawiin, bent on another revision of history.
Remember the Qadiriya and the Aweysiya? Check this out:

Here is a modern Qadiri website. Does it look like jahiliya and kufr to you?

Thank you, Sir.
I wouldn't do this if I didn't think it was a very important issue, and one that many seem to want to push under the rug.
There is an occupation in the Banadir that has nothing to do with Habashi.

DT,
Yours is the Saudi-Wahhaabbi view that Arabian nationalists used to end the Ottoman Caliphate. I know of at least two scholarly arguments against it and a growing Islamic community that considers it bidca. Certainly it contravenes the historical record.
Here is the best description of the Prophet's death and burial I have found so far:
http://www.allaahuakbar.net/muhammad/bu ... ations.htm
There was a disagreement over where the Prophet should be buried. Abu Bakr said that the Prophet told him a propohet is buried where he dies. So Abu Talhah removed the bed he died on and dug under it to make the grave.
Let me post this link to the Prophet's Mosque one more time:
http://www.sacred-destinations.com/saud ... mosque.htm
The Prophet died in 632 AD. In 707, Umayyad Caliph al-Walid (705-715) tore down the old structure and built a larger one in its place, incorporating the house and tomb of the Prophet. Abu Bakr and Cumar were also included. This could not have happened if the practice was considered shirk. Furthermore, mosque and shrine burial is clearly demonstrated in early Islamic history and all of the Suufi traditions.
The concept that shirk justifies takfiir originated with Ibn Taymiyyah, and proceeded through Abdul Wahaab to Qutb and other nationalist figures. The zakat wars were fought over the succession to the Caliphate and did not involve either shirk or takfiir.
The main point to be made here is that there are two distinct traditions with respect to siyarro and mosque burial. Shaykh Aweys al Baraawe was not some country hick who made up his theology as he went along. He was one of the most thoroughly educated and influential religious leaders of his day, whose writings extended his influence long after he was murdered.
What has been going on in Merka and Baraawe is clearly the imposition of a Takfiiri theology on a Suufi culture. Regardless of how you feel about this religiiously, that is a fact.
What I would like now is simply to get the facts straight. Who was removed from what tombs, and by whom?
