Its the 60s with one picture from Al Aruba hotel which was built in 70s/80s.

Anyways, Mogadishu was a beautiful city, and the city centre was already beautiful.

I am sure we can built better and more astonishing Mogadishu by ourselves when the mess ends!

I fail how we could be proud on what the colonialsts built. It was not our accomplishment, and insha allah when the mess ends we will built our own city and country by our own efforts.

Mog in the Sixties was not that big, and not that much of it was built by Italians. Hamar Caddey wasn't. The outskirts weren't. The new residential developments were all by Somalis, and I don't think the Italians built the Isbahaysiga mosque. A Somali had built the two tallest structures in cast concrete.

There was no port. The first international airport came in 1967. The only paved roads were in the immediate downtown area. There really wasn't much infrastructure. The truck park for rides to Kismayu was easy walking distance from Shingaaani.
