Al-Shabab Forces Take Control of TFG Centers

Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) - Reports we have received from the city of Baidao say that forces loyal to Al-Shabab have taken control of the interim Parliament and other Transitional Federal Government (TFG) buildings in the city of Baidoa.


The reports also say that Al-Shabab forces stopped looting after they arrived at the ADC centre which houses the interim Parliament and before moving towards other government buildings.


The reports add that Al-Shabab forces seized control of the city’s airport after Ethiopian troops vacated it this morning.

Moreover, the reports say that currently there is an exchange of fire between forces loyal to the TFG and local militia on one side and Al-Shabab forces on the other side.


The situation in the city is tense and residents are worried that the fighting will intensify and lead to heavy civilian casualties as well as damage to properties.


HOL is closely following the situation and will post developments as soon as we become aware of them.

They captured Xaabsade then released him. They should have cutt off his head and throw it in fire. But then again,those alshabaab in baidoa are crazy eelays filled with tribalism so iam sure xaabsade made deal with them.

was there enough pressure by AlShabab to cause Ethiopia to retreat, or is this just a case of Western powers going back to the drawing board and calling in bigger guns b/c this is above Ethiopian military's pay grade.

I think something regional is brewing w/ the whole naval patrols, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea, Mediterranean....and who knows maybe it's tied into a larger midEast conflagration.

Maybe she means Alshabaab are working in the interest of gaalo,in this case ethiopians.Because the ethiopians threatened to come back if alshabaab take over the country.

Lets be honest,first ethiopia said alshabaab are danger to their country and to the world. A day or week after,alshabaab holded great show on aljazeera saying they are going to bring shariahlaw to Japan, Alaska, Chile and the islands.

Somalia is not an eithopian colony. Somalis will choose who rules the country. Not eithopia. Eithopia knows the price of invading somalia. And that price should always be extracted

Let the west invade Somalia and clean up our mess. Hell its not like Somalis are doing a good job at it anyway. A good all out cleansing from Somalia through the Arabian Peninsula is needed.
