I think its hilarious how most Somalis believe there are some mysterious origins to our people.

The answer is simple and you don't need an outlandish theory like some Arab coming from Arabia or Iraq and marrying a Dir tribeswoman.

Somalis are from the same origins as the Afar, Oromo, Amhara, Tigre, and others in East Africans.

Simple

They look like us, speak similar languages, similar customs and culture.

These people don't have a mysterious Arab theory to explain their origins and neither should we.

The Arab origins, they're not so outlandish, all of them, as far as I have been able to determine, have some basis in fact.
They're not all agnaticically true though, many branch via a female ancestor.

So now we have similar Language, Customs and Culture with Amhara, Tigre and Afar. That is a simple answer and i'm glad we have this resolved once and for all.

Amhara language may be farther

but Afar are basically the same as us

The only reason Somalis made up the Arab myth is they thought it made them more muslim.

Afar are the purest people in the Horn. Amhara, Somalis, Tigrays, and Oromos are all hybrids of Arabs and Bantus.

And in any case, the origins of the Somali people are closer to Kenya than Yemen. Skinnies must be reasonable, they need to stop daydreaming about being the cousins of the prophet and all that nonsense.
