sterling depreciation, the US dollar and Remittance

the rate of sterling has significantly depreciated against the US dollar over a very short period and this hitting me hard. a year ago i use to send $500 every month for £250 sterling but now $500 is costing me over £400 pound. this virtual making me broke every month and if the sterling keeps depreciating im gonna have to have cut back on the money i send back home every month..............i hope the sterling can become strong again
