How to help young Somali youth.
See I have a cousin I knew him since he was a kid good kid all his youth but recently the passed 2 years he is been involved with criminal activities.
I mean I don’t know were things went wrong with him he is 20 years old so young and been in jail for 6 months already for robbing a gas station.
His step dad is a good man very good man a good example good father good with religion good with nollahsa basically.
But what I don’t understand is how can a kid like that grew up in the west and went to school here go so wrong, when I ask him mo why don’t you work or go back to school, he said I am not going to work for a few euros a hour, then I tell him here in the west you either work for your money or you go to school. There is nothing in between you can do. And he says I am going to be hussler what ever that is , me my self I never used to give a damn thing about that before Somali youth going the wrong direction , but when its your own family you think, How can I just make sure and see that this is so wrong.
To be honest I tell him all the time you can have fun and work and have a good life , but you don’t need to be a criminal , if you continue this the next time you will kill some one and that time u wont be in jail for just six months but its going to take 16 years do you want that , and your mother how does she feel every night your not home, and you sleep in a jail or how does your mother feel when other Somali woman come and see her and say how your son , and she has to replay wuu xidhanyahay.
So every time I see him with those negros pug nosed people I tell him adeer kuwan maad ka hadhiid they up to know good these negros are modern slaves, Mo , you don’t want to be a modern slave. So either go to school or get a job. So now I am helping him to get a job in a clothing store a guy I know owns the store . But he must stop his criminal activities.

Emprior i know what you mean, so many of our youth are fallen into the gutter because there is no good role model outside home. like you said, he's step father is good man, but how much time does he spend with he's family? not alot, i guess.? the thing is outside family home, there are no good role models that can look out for our youths. most of them are in school 9-3 all that time they spending it with black youth who's prolly are drug dealers!!
our somali youths have no one to look out for them. no one too look up to. they feel hopeless, from high school untill over 20. they feel they have no one to turn to.
i feel for us sometimes walahi. you wona help but dont know how. is kinda hopeless.
i saw one of my school friend. he was one of the only somali guys in top set for eveything at school. even higher than us girls! but just 2years later when we finish college i saw him that summer at the station !! i was like
ear pierced, gold tooth and tottaly different, he looks like he's been smoking for 5 days non stop. so dark, but not the normal darkness, and eye bright red! waan kana xay. waxaan ku iri Abdi maxaa kugu dhacay by now i thought you was going to Cambridge.?
he was like., you never know where life takes you next. i made my mistakes, just make sure...and he start advicing me about life. you can so tell he was regretting what he did/ and was doing, but some how felt hopeless in stopping them.
many somali youth are generally good kids, but have no outsiders who would help. the galos dont care about them, and mothers can only help within home. but thats about it!
thats the only people they got, non muslim drug dealing friends and mothers!!!!

The thing is with the step father of that kid, the kids tells that guy, your not my father I make my own decisions I come home when ever I want , I know there is lack of Somali role models that was always there , but what I don’t understand is how can you show this kid that what he is doing is wrong and that’s not how life suppose to be.
See sometimes I take him to my friends so he can hang out with me so he cant hang out with ciyaala suuqa and the negros who sell drugs and shit.
But first I need to understand what are the hobby's of 20 year old Somali youngster who got only a mother and no older brother, and just younger sisters.
Walahi it feel so sad when u see people going the wrong way , .

I agree with surrender. There are not enough role models. A lot of these kids go into these gangs and all cause their bored and see their peers doing it. They need some one to show them that, thats not the way to go and there are better alternatives. Also the process needs to start at a young age.
Most of these kids are bored at home, and have nothing to do. They see these gangs and drugs as their recreation, and next thing you know they're full into the gang. Kids need stuff to do, or they will take their path. I mean they need to get involved in something that will not deter them into that whether it be into sports, community work, a job, something that will keep them from running the streets.

No such thing in the UAE,
No Somali criminals....
But then again your balls will be cut off and you'll be air dropped back to Somalia if you try anything against the law here.
Europe should do the same

beesha puntland waxaa u hadashay Surrender
somali youth are wasted. i think there is a limit to when you can change someone or influence their actions. this kid had a chance and seems like he lost it. its hard to kill old habits. try your best if not, let him be himself or send him home. sending someone back home before they go all out is one of the blessing our country can still offer our youth. it will show them the suffering back home and the privileges they lack.
