Why I dont support Sheikh Sharif.

Post by The_Patriot »

This should not be equated to me being against Abgaal.

Sheikh Sharif rose ranks and became part of the Supreme leadership of the ICU.

I consider his political view of thinking as a Teenager or immature due to the following reasons.

When he was among the top leaders of the ICU in 2006, he had every opportunity to accept or form a coalition with the TFG.
However he turned down the option and took the option of declaring Jihad on the Ethiopians & TFG Alliance never thinking of the repurcursions of war.

We well know dagaal wiil kumadasho lakin uu kudinta. How would you beat your cheast and threaten the Ethiopian army ? He was firmly for the war and even the Sudan peace treaty he hardly made any concessions. His stance was Ethio pian Army to leave or face a full out war.

When the war started Sharif saw the light and just like a teeneger who overestimated his strengh saw that he was only punching an impregnebale wall. He then was forced to leave Mogadishu and went to Kismayu. When he left Mogadishu he said it was a tacticle withdrawal and that he was going to save the lives of the people in Mogadishu but when he went to Kismayu he said that he will wage a war against the occupational force inside the city??????Was he being a Tribalist? I will leave you to guess.

When things became abit hotter he relocated to the jungle of Juba, there is the turning mark of his thinking just like the teenager. How could he survive being called a wanted man at the same time leave in a jungle which was infested with bugs & mosquitoes, snakes and no clean water nor luxurious comforts.

He made the U turn and adopted the Gandi form of resistance to occupation. He then went to the Kenyan border where a helicopter was immediatly dispatched to him.

It was then that he found what he had been missing , hot shower, well cooked food ,red carpet, and the media attention. He saw his dreams comming back to life. He then went to Asmera. In Asmera he found out that they had nothing more than sending him back to the Jungle where he would have to face the menace of swamming mosquitoes or the howling of hyenas, roaring of lions etc.

He then took a major step of going to Djibouti and trying another initiative of reconciling with the TFG. You will ask yourself does it take one two years to reason? He had made a fatal mistake while people had died in thousands while a close to million were displaced.
This is a gross mistake that only an accused person was either supposed to honorably leave politics.

But this is the same guy that people are trying to convince us that he will bring peace. What kind of Peace?

I will leave the readers to decide this.

Good analysis my brother.
You are not being qabilist at all and the sharif was not qabilist in kismayu.

i believe more lives would have been saved if they defended xamar while ICU forces were intact in Dec. 2006.

Many mistakes were made. But we learn from them.
I am only left with duca for all mujahidiin. Islam and fitna and tafaaruq don't mix. it will be disaster if they don't speak with one voice.

Patriot,

Sh. Shariif is a patriotic Somali. If senior ICU officials listened to him in late 2006, much would've been averted.

In addition, he has no plans of joining the Mbagathi warlords, its all a show for the international community. Behind closed doors, he's still a vital leader in the Maxaakiim. May Allah guide him, ameen.

I do beleive that one should always be firm on his grounds.
But being a flipflopper is not an alternative but it reveals one as being an immature person.

People have three choices.
1.To submit the the Ethiopian army.
2.To resist the Ethiopian army.
3.To be neutral.

There is however no chance of being a flippflopper.
Sharif seems to be one.

Yeah but there is a honorary position he could have taken i.e is resigning and retiring from the somali political scene.
He didnt so his actions seems more of being unstable, undecided and we dont know what steps he might take in the future he leaves us in suspence.

Patriot,

How is he a flip-flopper? By far he's one of the most intelligent individuals among the ICU. Rather than pursue Goliath vs. David approach, he also sought diplomacy & international politics.

AK-47 alone does not free anything. Adaptation is a requirement or else, resistance groups risk failure.

TFG plays a small ceremonial role in what's happening. The West run the whole show and the ICU/Al-shabaab are no match for superpowers like the U.S. Sometimes concession is a better tactic and that's what Sh. Shariif chose.

Kolombo what one needs is being firm and putting tawakal on Allah.
Not jumping from a frying pan into the fire.

As for the TFG call them whatever you like but still they are recognised Internationaly.

If it was to save lifes people would rather have submited to the TFG and accepted their governance.

The Sharif never did this he infact decided on resisting them and know he wants to share power with them.
What do you call this? if its not classical flippflopping.

You see you either have to believe that you can fight Ethiopians even if it takes a century or Just submit like Somalilanders or Puntlanders.

Sharif sheikh axmed should stayed firm on the UIC decision not to talk with the selfclaimed goverment until ethiopians leave somalia.
However the americans promised him money and high function in the future goverment.

The gaalo are one step ahead of us. The most genuine and most experienced sheikhs are Sheikh Aweys and Sheikh Hassan Turki.
They put them in list of wanted people. The rest are untested and inexperienced.

But shady individuals will have a hard time. the mujahidiin know what they are fighting for:
1) Shareeca law
2) Ethios out

That is what they are looking for in any agreement. they don't care about individuals like Sheikh sharif. there are plenty of honest mujahidiin in Jowhar itself. Some did not want him to land there.
