Its a simple question. For years, they've complained that Somalia is holding them back and there is no gains for them to remain part of the country anymore.

I say anyone who wants to seccede should be allowed, including S/land and P/land. The less, the better.

I disagree with both your options. I propose a better deal that will bring stability to the Horn:

1. Land Swap with Ethiopia:

--- Ethiopia swaps land in SOmali Galbeed for Puntland.


2. Land Swap helps promote Peace in the Horn:

-- Ethiopia gets a bunch of loyal citizens in the newly acquired Puntland
-- EThiopia gets rid of those restive people in Somali Galbeed who quickly become loyal citizens of Somalia
-- "Somaliland" now has no border with their enemy: "Konfuur" but their best ally/brotherly Ethiopians
-- Ethiopia now gets access to the Ocean
-- Somalia now has more fertile lands in SOmali Galbeed and many loyal citizens.

It just is, because it is never going to happen. Somaliland has been independent for the last 18 years and they haven't been recognised. What makes you think Puntland has any chance?
