My apologies to the thread opener for hijacking his topic, but I am just curious about these Shabab dudes. Atleast from this forum and others, they do wield a decent power in Somalia. Anyone know how they manage to get there. I´d assume they have lots of money. How does this money reach Somalia as most Hawalas now to my knowledge abide by The Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001. Anyone have a real or hypothetic theory on this this money trail.

Secondly do they provide jobs to disenfranchised jobless youths, Stipents to single mothers, ailing parents etc. Aside from the Islamic perspective (which I know folks have contrasting opinion), do they have any tangible social services to eliviate the suffering of the masses? Your feedbacks appreciated.
