That stuff is made from meerschaum. Is "farshaxad" meerschaum or handicraft?

in the early seventies a friend tried to import meerschaum from Somalia for pipes. He went through the embassy and trade ministry. At first they wanted him to make the pipes in Somalia. Then they were willing to sell him the meerschaum at something over $100/lb. We didn't know what the stuff was worth, but knew he couldn't make a profit at that price. I recently saw some premium material for sale on a rock-cutting site for $8/lb.
