The prophet sent his companions and continued the fight, Aweys was never within a half-mile of gunfire. Aweys left the country while he sent boys to continue his holy war. I never liked exiled leaders taking credit for the works of domestic heroes.

Aweys was too busy wrestling Sheikh Sharif for the chairman position in 2006. The head of defense of the UIC was Abu Mansuur. All credit must go to Abu Mansuur and Hassan Turki. I dont hate Aweys or like him. You'll seem to be carry some heavy grudges and allowing them to cloud your judgment.

Aweys was in Somalia for a long time during the ICU-Ethiopia war before he left for Eritrea. He might not have had such a major role in the defense compared to Abu Mansur and Turki but for you to say he had no role in the guerilla movement is an exageration.
