I think most of the posters here are students not workers, they can't leave in the middle of November to Puntland.

Its much cooler around that time but also very dry, the best season to go is April-May in the rainy season when the entire country greens-up/monsoon..

Might go Gaalkacyo, not sure but If I decide to go its gonna be around late July-Aug

Plannin from Sep thru Dec, just because of the flights and less hassle at the airports. it is also better cuz you can miss some of the winter while your at it. summer time should be the worst you will meet everybody leaving the west to catch a breeze/take a vacation. from what i am hearing from people who took their trips at peak times, i rather sit and wait.

I am going June inshallah if everything goes an planned. From Kenya to Puntland State.

Xamud, i might be going to Somaliland this year with my Cousins.
Their mother is from Galkacyo and it will be their first time in Somaliland and second time in Galkacyo. They'll spend most of their time in Somaliland but they asked me and my brothers to tag along with them to Galkacyo for a couple of days.

My question to you is, is it safe for me to do so?

Ofcourse it is, I met some Cibraan guys in Gaalkacyo last year, Dhibada beey ku qayilayen Fadhi ku dirir bey ku jireen they are drivers just like my cousin! he goes to Hargeisa and Berbera and Burco all the time! they are good friends.
