It will be back in a few years after the crisis.
Dubai is still and will always be the engineering paradise no place can top it.
Sometimes the wealth here is disgustingly too much (1 in like 3 cars is luxurious, and there are super-size malls everywhere
), so a correction in the overheated economy will not be the end of Dubai.

Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
my aunties and uncles bought lots of houses their
im not sure whether they were planing on reselling or just having them as holiday homes though
i definately would buy a house for 100,000 to 200,000 if its nice, i must have a house in kenya and dubai if somalia was ever to get build and mest up like last time, having a second home outside the country would be nice

My sis bought 1 bedroom condo for $100k last year; i doubt its easy to find 3 bedroom flat for the figure you gave!Dubai dad baddan soomali oo deggan yurub and north america ayaa guryo baddan ka iibsadey. aparthament 3 qol ah waxaa lagu iibsanayey 100 000 dollar. laakiin dadkaas dhamaantood waa qasaareeen. meesha waa lagu kala tagey
Anyway, the housing situation is pretty bad right now but I am sure things will be bettter once the US economy recovers.

My family's house in Dubai over the past year (estimates):

1985: 125.000$
1990: 175.000$
1995: 350.000$
2000: 650.000$
2005: 1.200.000$
2010: Who knows

It is expected to fall more. Soon there will be no jobs in the construction industry for all the immigrants there.
Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
2005: 1.200.000$ thats quite cheap
what are the average prices for a 5-7 bedroom house with nice kitchen and a master bedroom toilet and with a large garden, basically a ideal house for a young family with 4 kids??

Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
If US & Uk economies pull up, i think things will be alright after all 45% of foreign investors in UAE are from UK according to a report i read sometime ago.
But its quite interesting living in a country like UAE where the natives are only 28% of population; I think foreigners should take over and rule those pig heads

If I added 2007 to it, it could have gone for 1.500.000$, thats 5.5 million AED, thats a shit load even for Dubai's standards only high end apartments and those crazy nakheel palm islands homes go for more than that.
And to answer your question, depends on the neighborhood. But probably around 600.000$ before the crisis, today I think like 450.000$...
Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
450.000$...

is that not below the construction cost? dont you study civil engineering, elaborate man

Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Construction cost of those homes is maybe only 180.000$.
Cheap Indian laborers, Cheap Chinese cement/steal etc
The remaining 270.000$ is just bullshit you are buying into, i.e. ''Hot air''.

Dubai is a pretty cheap place actually, You can get a good meal for only 2$.
We are surrounded by third world countries like India/Pakistan etc which make food and other commodities very cheap.
You never been in Dubai? It looks more like India then an actual Arab country, laborers everywhere who work for 5$ a day

Re: Dubai Property Market Collapse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

i stayed dubai as a kid for 6 month or so before we moved to tunisia, but from what i heard tunisia is 10 times nicer then dubai, but obviasly that was back then,
im planning to go their to get married (pretty sexy girl on the radar the family says), do somalis get national citizenship/UAE passport if they stayed their for 23 years ??
